It was summer 2005 and I was living in Naples, FL when I bought my 05′ Harley Road King Classic, brand new (It still had the protective wrapping on all the body work). This bike was absolutely beautiful..Black Cherry with white walls and full windshield, that iconic Harley look. I rode out of the Harley Dealer with that permanent grin on my face and started running up the miles. I really loved this bike, but the moment I merged onto RT. 75 I was shocked by the utter lack of performance from the 1450cc engine, the power was good to about 70 miles per hour, but then the engine just seems to struggle and the 2005 frame was utter rubbish..resulting in an extremely unstable feel while traveling at anything over 70 mph. ( Note: The new Harley touring frames eliminated the unstable ride, however the power issue still remains…sure you can hit 100mph on the big HOG, but there just isn’t any “locomotive” pull behind it ) To be fair..I am 38 years of age and I weigh 180 pounds, so for me, the Harley line of touring motorcycles really doesn’t satisfy my overall idea of what I should be getting for $22,000.00 + (after performance upgrades). Sure the Harley is an iconic brand and the bikes are head turners, the exhaust note is heavily engineered in a sound lab at Harley.. complete with focus groups on site in order to determine THE “perfect exhaust note”. Bottom line: The Harley is a great cruiser with that mythic feel, perfect for anyone who intends to stay within the realm of that Fonzi-Esque boulevard cruising…..but if you are looking for a shocking, exhilarating, kick in the soul, then THE TRIUMPH IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!

The Triumph Rocket III is a completely different breed of machine…built by Britain’s Boldest engineers. 2300cc’s of liquid cooled perfection, with 147 FT-LBS of Torque/141 HP and a 240 rear tire………can you say dislocated shoulder? (just kidding), but seriously…there is more than enough torque to separate your arm from your upper torso.

HANDLING: I ride the Police Motorman Course nearby on my Road King every week and you can really put the HOG into some very tight turns and still be comfortable in the knowledge that you can out maneuvre pretty much anything on two wheels (except a BMW R1200RT). That being said…the Harley is top heavy and if you get into some real world trouble making a u-turn (like incoming crazy drivers making a right turn as they enter from a side street.. into your right hip) it is very possible to end up in a situation where you need to stop suddenly in order to avoid a collision while in the middle of your U-turn! This can cause two problems:

Depending on your angle and speed, when you stop you may be off balance and only have one foot down on the street…….the top heavy Harley wants to just lay down all over the road at this point (unless you apply just the right leverage and are able to keep her upright for the several seconds you will need to avoid “America’s Top Driver”, then recover and be on your way.

When and if you drop your left boot to the street, there exists the very strong possibility you will encounter OIL……and we all know what happens next. Assuming you can still have children (that goes for the women as well) you may be lifting your beautiful Harley off the street while cursing the damage your pristine ride may have sustained.

I have experienced this very situation on both bikes. I travel through one of The most dangerous intersections in South Florida every day and perform a u-turn every time.

On the Harley I was able to keep the bike upright, despite a heavy rain and avoid a side collision, however…I really strained my leg and back, (as my turn was a tight radius) and nearly caused myself a trip to the Doctor.

On the Rocket III I stopped the bike with no problem in a slightly larger radius turn in a light rain with one foot down. The center of gravity is lower on the Triumph, which makes this bike (that weighs nearly the same as the Harley) much easier to handle in all situations. I have never felt as though I would drop the Triumph 2300 cc “Beast” in any situation. If you ride Harley Tourers, then you know this is a big deal! Yes you can ride the big Rocket III through the police course……it’s not as tight as the Harley, as the front rake is longer, but it still gets the job done. At speed the Rocket III destroys the Harley with it’s sport bike like handling, whether it’s on the highway moving through traffic or in the long sweepers, the Rocket III is beyond impressive and instills you with confidence and certainty with it’s rock solid feedback and surefooted grip…, whether in the wet or dry conditions.

Performance:

Rocket III

Forget the numbers people, just get on and twist the throttle…..there is only one word to describe the Rocket’s immense thrust: Unbelievable…. This bike is like nothing you have ever ridden! The feeling you get when riding a 700+ Pound machine with the torque of a small automobile and a top speed of 147mph (computer limited) is nothing short of a recipe for Lifetime Addiction! Take a test ride, rent one, buy one! JUST MAKE SURE YOU RIDE ONE!

Harley FLHRCI:

The first time I opened up the Harley on the Highway was less than impressive, that being said; The Harley has solid acceleration up to 70 mph (nothing earth shattering, but speed and acceleration isn’t what Harley’s are for) after 70mph the acceleration tails off and becomes an exercise in the effects of engine noise on the human ear. However given the fact that nobody is buying Harley’s for speed and performance (at least I hope not) the Road King provides all the power and style a law abiding Biker needs……., if more power is what you crave.., there is always the stage 1 & stage 2 upgrade or you could just buy the Screaming Eagle version and get the augmented torque and horsepower you will be wishing for with the base engine.

All things being what they are, I believe everyone should own at least one Harley and customize the hell out of it! Ride it until the wheels fall off and then put her back together again and ride some more. The Harley Road King is a fantastic bike in the proper context, one which anyone will enjoy riding.

Bottom Line :

Alright, I believe I have said my piece and you all get the idea ( ROCKET III). I love motorcycles and the fact that a bike like the Triumph Rocket III even exists, is cause enough to believe in miracles. It comes down to “The right tool for the right job”, so whether your taste is style and comfort or power and raw sex appeal, I think either bike is more than enough to satisfy your specific need. Now stop reading lame reviews and go back out there and RIDE!

Quinn’s Bio

As a boy growing up in Lower Merion Pennsylvania I was constantly searching for adventure, anything that offered something beyond the usual experience of everyday life. Early on this thirst for excitement led me to the wonderful world of bicycles and the ultimate freedom one could achieve by mounting a Schwinn Stingray and taking off through the neighborhood and beyond. The moment I experienced the speed and possibility my Schwinn provided me…I was hooked for life! That Corvette Red, two wheeled ticket to anywhere I could pedal to and still get back in time for dinner, was my main outlet for fun. It wasn’t long before I discovered “stunt jumping” pretty much anywhere my friends and I could build a ramp, find a ramp built into the environment or just “Bunny Hop” we were all over it! I would say by the age of 10 I was pretty much into pre X-Games type action with my evolving dirt bikes: Raleigh R10-400, GT Performer { which of course I customized with the legendary ACS Rotor and all the GT Pro-Performer parts I could bolt on, as well as a few sets of Peregrine Mag Wheels } I followed that perfect machine up with a Dave Mirra Special Edition Haro (which along with the GT still occupy a spot in my garage, always ride ready in case I get the itch).

Through the years I participated in District Choir, Track, Football, Baseball, Softball, AV Crew, Acting, Student Govt. @ Penn State, and the usual collection of Cars & Motorcycles from age 16 to 25:

79′ Ford Thunderbird Heritage Edition

83′ Plymouth Horizon (after I wrecked the Thunderbird on a bridge in a rainstorm)

A Dodge Dart & A Ford Maverick ( I forget the year )

85” Chevette ( great for those first dates )

85′ Chevrolet Cutlas Caprice Station Wagon

89′ Mitsubishi Starion ( I still miss that car )

83′ Honda Custom 250 Motorcycle

89′ Mitsubishi Tredia

85′ Honda Prelude

95′ Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX ( Turbo/All Wheel Drive )

90′ Mazda 626

87′ Yamaha Virago 750 Motorcycle

89′ GMC Sierra Work Truck ( With Stahl Work Box ) AWESOME TRUCK!

I think that pretty much covers the various vehicles from back in the day. Later I became more focused in my selection, with the acquisition of:

2001′ Jeep Wrangler Sport

98′ Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster Motorcycle

2005′ Harley Davidson Road King Classic Motorcycle

2006′ BMW R1200GS Motorcycle

2008′ BMW 328i

2008′ Triumph Rocket III Motorcycle

I have always loved driving and riding. If you have the chance; you need to ride a BMW and Triumph Motorcycle! You will be hooked!

When I was 19 years old, I began researching Quantum Physics, various dream states and the elements of psychic phenomena. I sat in on a Coven ( witches ), interviewed quite a few alien abductees, UFOlogists and theoretical physicists. Science became a primary interest of mine in the early nineties and remains a focus of my research to this day. The interconnectedness of Quantum Mechanics, Phychic Phenomena, Alien Encounters and Dream States is something of an expanding field of interest today, as leading researchers uncover more every year. I have benn employed in a number of different areas and professions, from a Philadelphia Taxi Driver to a Professional MC/DJ (I will devote a separate page to cover these positions more in depth).

In 1998 I moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Biddeford Pool, Maine, where I lived for 2 years before moving south to Marblehead, Massachusettes ( sister city to Salem ). Marblehead is an amazing town on the coast, birthplace of the U.S. Navy and one of the most beautiful towns in the U.S.. I started a staffing firm in Boston that gradually evolved into a full service business consulting, business design, ineternet business development and software design firm. Eventually the cold weather started me thinking on warmer climates and I hopped in the JEEP and moved to Miami, Florida where I currently reside. So hopefully that wasn’t too long winded….and here I am in sunny Miami running my life, my business, and writing this Blog, which I quite enjoy. I hope you do as well……..please feel free to email me @ quinnfoxx@gmail.com with any comments or suggestions you may have. I would love to hear from you!

I’m staring down the barrel of what appears to be a semi-auto hand gun….. I’ve had better days I thought to myself.
So here is this guy attempting armed robbery & I’m his target, only I’m looking at this freak wearing his bandanna over his mouth and nose, along with the sunglasses & hat…… I can’t stop thinking what an idiot this guy looks like, so I start laughing in his face ( while I’m still holding the phone to my ear as if someone on the other end was telling me something that was so funny I couldn’t help but laugh in the face of death ). There was a brief pause in the action ( as if he was truly wondering what was happening ) where we just stared each other face to disguised face, and then it happened. My own personal Concierge Mugger turned away from me and ran off through the parking lot. Maybe it was the shock of an unexpected reaction, I don’t know, but it was really an interesting moment. Drive around Philly long enough and you will see all sorts of crazy things happening ( usually to other people, but sometimes to yourself ). So what did I do after this little episode?…. I went over to Pat’s Steaks and had a Philly Cheese Steak Baby! BEST ONE I EVER HAD TOO! There is nothing like a Pat’s Cheese Steak! Anywhere! The onions, cheese and that roll….. Wicked Amazing! ( uh oh .. Mixing my geodescriptive phrases ) Can you imagine if that guy had actually taken my money?! I would have missed an awesome Pat’s moment with the food of the Philly Gods. Now that would have really been a crime.

The year is vague, I had been a Professional Disc Jockey for a few years in the early 90′s and it was one of the hottest summers on record in the “City Of Brotherly Love”. I received a call one afternoon from a friend of mine who owned a Taxi Cab service in downtown Philly, it turns out he had recently lost a driver and was in need of someone who could handle a converted police cruiser in the heavy and unforgiving traffic of downtown Philly….. I agreed of course, just the small matter of attaining my Philadelphia Cab License…. No problem.
Several days later I walked into the Taxi Dispatch Garage, the exam had been nothing more than a simply dispatched task ( nothing to write home about ). The garage was not a dissapointment, it had the feel of an “anything can happen” type of environment, taken straight out of a DeNiro film. I greeted my friend, took possession of my meter and jumped into my “New” Taxi complete with bullet proof shield which when operated by the toggle switch in the dash would slide into its own compartment dividing the front and rear of the car…. VERY HANDY… AND VERY COOL.
50 MPH on tight multi-laned city streets packed with drivers straight out of the cast from Death Race xxxx, flying past historic locations such as; Independence Hall and The Rodin Museum….. And I get paid for this….!?
I’ve got the Taxi on a 24 hour lease, but I can only manage 12 hours my first day, Still I manage to bring in a healthy profit and I’m motivated to enter the fray once again the next morning. Yes, I would take the Taxi home as an additional vehicle and basically just drive it for everything I needed to do ( you can park anywhere with virtually no issue )… Pretty nice.
It’s 1pm the next day and I’m outside a popular lunch spot on Delaware Avenue waiting for a fare, I stepped out of the Cab to make a call on a nearby payphone ( yes….. It was that long ago ) when suddenly from around the corner of the building, two feet in front of me.. emerges a Gunman wearing a bandana as a mask, dark sunglasses and a dark baseball cap, gun drawn & pointing directly between my eyes………..
——-more tomorrow.

I jumped into my 328i and headed over to Rack’s on 163rd Street in North Miami, a fantastic Italian Bistro And Market located on the beautiful Intercoastal between North Miami & Sunny Isles.
First things first: The food here is INCREDIBLE! We are talking a Super Natural experience. EVERYTHING on the menu is amazing and the staff is among THE BEST you will find.. anywhere… period. I arrived @ 12:45pm and didn’t leave until 10pm!
It was brunch, I started with the Steak&Eggs, medium&medium with bacon and potatoes.. All cooked perfectly. Of course I had to partake of the best Bloody Mary’s in the area, all while sitting at the lush bar that opens out onto a lavish deck overlooking the Intercoastal…. Very Nice.
I followed up with the Toscana, Italian Paninni’s don’t get any better than this! Served with your choice of Ceasar or House salad, this is one of my favorites when I come here ( which is often ).
I love living in Miami and Rack’s is one of the reasons why, always consistent in the quality of their food & preparation as well as always going out of their way to deliver VIP service. The view from the Intercoastal is among the best in South Florida and if you cruise by in your Yacht, you are welcome to pull up to the über dock built especially for those of us who like to buy big and eat well.
Finally I have to mention the Scotch, I love Glenfiddich a rich Single Malt aged 12 years from the Speyside Region of the Scotish Highlands, I will not go into an involved description here, only to say this is one of my all time favorites and should be enjoyed by anyone who loves or is curious about Whisky. I prefer my Glenfiddich Neat served in a Snifter…. ahhhh.
Now you may be wondering…. How did I end up staying sooo long? My answer: I don’t really know. Once I started eating, I began drinking and of course I met people at the bar who then intrigued me with their conversation, then you look at your iPhone and it’s 10:00pm.
Time flies when the food and atmosphere are second to none.

First things first, I hit the Apple Store yesterday afternoon and pulled the trigger on another Mac. This time it was a 13″ MacBook Pro 2.26 Ghz, all the power I need in a beautifully sleek and compact design. I run airport sharing from my iMac so I can access the network from anywhere in or around my house with the new notebook. I will upgrade the memory and hard drive next week from 2 gigs to 4 gigs and 160 gigabytes & 5200 rpm to 500 gigabytes & 7200 rpm respectively. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I currently run the 328i BMW for all my Executive tasks and today was my first experience with customer service @ BMW. WOW! I had some basic service performed, including all fluids, air pressure, as well as a tire pressure sensor reset. Bottom line: in and out in under 30 minutes with at least 7 other people waiting and THE BEST SERVICE I have ever received from an auto dealer. If you don’t own a BMW automobile… you should.

The Great Multi Site Experiment is off and running. My first effort has been extremely encouraging and met with much appreciation. I will spare you the link, as I would prefer a more organic process for people to stumble upon my sites. Eventually though, (once traffic is flowing on a consistent basis) I will provide a comprehensive list of all my site builds along with my failures, triumphs and tips for only the most useful techniques which yielded positive results.

Yes! I have pulled the trigger on a new 20 inch iMac 2.66 model, and I am writing on it right now. I must say that I am impressed with this iMac, as it is flawless in it’s ease of set up and execution of design. My other office companion has been a Power Mac dual 1 gig tower for the last 9 years or so and has only just recently began to be phased out in it’s ability to stay 100% current (Motorola Power PC Chip) in todays evolving tech arena. If you are wondering why I chose the 20 inch as opposed to the 24 inch, I will tell you that I am among other things…a Professional Disc Jockey and the 20 inch model is much more portable than the 24 inch! Yes you can throw this iMac into a protective carrying case and take it to whatever venue strikes your passion. So I am a happy and satisfied consumer today (by the way, I made my purchase at Best Buy for it’s super easy in and out experience). I’ll be updating you with my iMac experience as it unfolds, plus I’ll let you in on a few secrets that made getting all my files and bookmarks into my sleek new machine an almost instant process (under 5 minutes) and they are actually all installed on my new system, and NO I did not utilize the notoriously infamous Mobile Me service.
Stay safe and watch for Apple Ninjas.

I am currently developing multiple site builds using WordPress and Host Gator, with the goal of building my own mini-network of sites covering a selective range of subject matter. I could of course just build one mega-site, however I really want to keep each site in it’s own webverse with their own look , feel, and specific content. I currently own 132 Domains covering about 10-15 topics,…… So this should be a fun experiment in web design.

Yes!!! It is Saturday morning and it’s time to jump on the big BMW GS and head for the Everglades. One of the advantages of living so close to the beach here in Miami, is the increased distance from the interior of the state.
There are many options for an incredible ride (given my origination point) and today is no different. I will take a nice run 10 miles up the Florida Coast Line, then head west towards the Everglades via RT 595. My trusty steed and I will hop onto RT 27 after a solid 15-20 minute run and head south to Everglades Holiday Park ( home of airboat rides, fishing , food, and plenty of gators). Upon wrapping up another interesting conversation with the other Riders who have trekked out to this Zen like location, I will shoot across to Cafe 27 just down the road for some live band action and to soak up the bohemian atmosphere.
- Cheers All & Ride Cool
